Nintendo Announces DSi

To launch in Japan on November 1st, 2008.



Nintendo in a conference in Tokyo has confirmed that the company plans to introduce a new revision of its extremely successful handheld device, DS. The new version will be called Nintendo DSi and will feature a 12% slimmer design, 3.25” screens, SD card slot (replacing the GBA slot), two 3MP cameras (one outside and one under the hood) and a music player.

Nintendo will also be launching a DSi Shop for the handheld allowing users to download free titles or purchase them for 200, 500 and 800 points. The DSi will be made available on November 1st, 2008 in Japan for 18900 yen (roughly around $180).
