Bethesda Parent Company Acquires Prey

ZeniMax Media buys Radar Group\\\'s shooter franchise.
According to documents unearthed by
superannuation, ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks and id Software, has acquired the rights of Human Head's and Radar Groups' shooter franchise Prey. The document showed that the ownership was transferred in July.
If you are having trouble remembering, Prey was a sci-fi first person shooter released back in 2006 after being in development for over 9 years. Despite having fresh gameplay ideas (like portals...yes, before Valve made it famous with Portal), the game failed to tap its true potential and received a lukewarm response from critics and gamers alike.
But to be honest, I thoroughly enjoyed the game and i am happy that the franchise will be revived under a capable roof. What is troubling however, is that ZeniMax intends to milk the franchise to the max (oh, the puns!). Apparently, they have registered the Prey trademark for PC games, console games, books, movies, television shows and even T-shirts, hats and other apparel.
ZeniMax has not made any official announcements as of yet, but we expect a press release soon after this bit of leak.
